This Is Why Eating Healthy Is Hard (Time Travel Dietician)

– [Narrator] Gadoosh. (classic rock) (toilet flushing) – Oh, you’re terrible! (portal opening) – Wait!
(gasping) Stop! Don’t eat that food! – Who are you? What are you doing in our house? – I’m from the future. I’m here to warn you, don’t eat that food. – Why not? – The eggs, they’re full of cholesterol. – What? – Cholesterol it, it clogs up your arteries. Eating even just one egg can dramatically increase your chance of heart attack. Don’t eat eggs! – Oh, my God. Thank you. – You’re welcome. Godspeed. (dramatic music) (portal closing) – Well I guess I better take those eggs. (portal opening) – Wait! Stop! – [Woman] You’re back! – Yeah, we were wrong about the eggs. – How? – Well it turns out there’s
two types of cholesterol. There’s good cholesterol
and bad cholesterol, and eggs actually have both. So you can eat eggs but just
don’t eat the egg yolks. So stick with the egg whites. – Yes, thank you. – Godspeed! (intense music) (portal closing) (portal opening) Wait! We were wrong about the eggs. – Again? – Yeah. Yeah, okay so it turns out
that the amount of cholesterol in a food doesn’t actually
affect how much cholesterol ends up in your blood. The eggs are probably fine. In fact we sort of don’t even know what… cholesterol is. But the steak! You can’t eat the steak! – Why not? – Turns out that red meat increases your chance of heart attack. You have to cut out red meat. So no steak! – Thank you. – Godspeed. (intense music) – What, no. No steak, Mister. – Wait. (portal opening) – Wait! We were wrong about the steak! It’s the toast. Man was not meant to eat bread. – What do you mean man was
not meant to eat bread? – Well if you think about it, human beings should really only be eating what our paleolithic ancestors ate. So, therefore, no bread, no toast. – How do you know what our
paleolithic ancestors ate? – Well, we just have to guess. Right, I mean we don’t have
any way of knowing wha- (portal closing) (sighing) (portal opening) – Woo! Okay, went back to the paleolithic. They are… not doing well. I don’t know what we were thinking. If anything we should all
be eating a lot more bread. Geez! So I guess just um, ignore everything I’ve said and exercise. – Exercise, okay. – Yeah. You guys could probably use it. You’ve been sitting just sitting
here for the last 35 years. – It’s been five minutes. – Right. Time travel. Alright, well, Godspeed! (dramatic music) (portal opening) Turns out it’s genetic. Doesn’t matter whether you
exercise or what you eat. I’m sorry I ruined your meal. – I need 10 minutes. Woo! – Do you want some eggs? – I’d love some.

  1. What about the global cooling, then it was global warming, now it’s climate change. Yeah, no shit, the climate has always been changing.

  2. There is no cholesterol in egg whites. This is stupid.

There is no question that dietary cholesterol greatly influences serum cholesterol and that serum cholesterol is a leading risk for heart disease.

This isn’t even funny. Just ignorant and stupid.

Paid for by the dairy industry?

  3. They skipped the: "Stop! DO NOT EAT AT ALL! Fasting lengthens your telomeres!!!" throws the whole plate out the window

  4. Close and lock that closet door… Or go to the bedroom, grab the gun for home defense and then shoot the time traveler.

  5. Sex hormones are synthesized from cholesterol. All the fad diets and we wonder why all men now have low testosterone.

  6. My wife is a dietitian, now retired. I remember her telling me all these things across the years, with the same updates, in the same order, and with the same increasing frustration. Indeed, I remember her using the exact SAME form of words..
"..turns out there are two forms of cholesterol."
I showed her this. For some reason she didn't think it was funny.

  7. I ate what I want, which I guess is pretty healthy. Small portions of all types of food, mostly fruits and veggies. I don't really listen to other peoples advice about what to eat because my body tells me what I should and shouldn't eat. If something's unhealthy, I get sick.

  8. Just stop eating sooooo much, lol. Fasting is very healthy way of staying in touch with your body and mind espechially. Peace be with you all.

  9. Part of the trouble is that some of the popular media pick up tenuous study results from journals, and then greatly oversimplify/overstate the findings. The actual scientists rarely make the sweeping claims because they are aware of the limitations of their studies.

  10. Funny but…. it's not genetic. Neither God nor natural selection would design us to be crappy or have worse health, so…. yeah.

  11. In 2015 the USA spent 3.2 trillion dollars on so-called Healthcare + 34 billion on Alternative Health. We die younger and suffer more disease and injury then other developed countries. They wouldn't know what health felt like if it punched them in the face. They take palliative drugs to make believe they're feeling well and continue to eat crap. Time to wake up and stop kidding around. Grow a set of balls and get aware of your health.

  12. tbh just look at cultures with low obesity and high life expectancy and eat like them. rice, fish, a lot of vegetables and fruits, and fresh meat, i guess?

  13. The average person doesn't understand enough about how studies work to know if the methods are faulty. If a major news outlet picks up on bad research, they can get people to believe it and that's all you need for the nutrition community to buy into it. Its the worst kind of fake news – the kind that slowly kills people with bad advice from special interest groups.

  14. I love how this cruises thru every health "belief" for the past 20 years.

Also, just wondering how many home Time Traveling Dietician goes to to save mankind in an average day?
